Learn various ways to texture metal and apply 24Karat gold using the Keum Boo technique of fusion bonding gold to silver.
The Keum Boo & Texturing metal class will be taught in the style of demonstration and then practice.
So at the start the technique will be explained and then demonstrated before students get to practice and experience the skills for themselves. During the class we will work on two silver & Keum-Boo gold projects. Methods like, rolling mill printing, embossing, hammer texturing can be used on the class to add texture to the Keum-Boo projects. The class will truly be a discovery of textures and finishes for your jewellery. The first project will be a cast silver with a Keum-Boo oak leaf and the second project is more free using a silver oval shape we cut gold shapes free hand to apply.
